Sniffapalooza
We’ve just been informed that The Perfumer’s Studio – a new resource for the creative perfumer based in Los Angeles — will be running the PerfumersWorld Art and Technology of Perfumery Foundation Plus Workshop in Los Angeles from February 15-19. This marks the first time that the weeklong intensive has been held on the west coast.
When the weather turns chillier, I instinctively reach for my heady, spicy, more intense fragrances. This year I’m loving boozy accords…. I’m really in the mood to smell like a sexy cocktail (inside and out), put on a spangly little dress, kick up my stiletto heels, and celebrate the season in style. And I’ve found the perfect fragrance to toast the glittering festivities with – Absolument Absinthe, by Absolument Parfumeur. It’s one of the best-kept secrets of the Scent Universe!
Unusually balmy mid-December weather made it the perfect Sunday afternoon to enjoy Sniffapalooza’s Holiday Fete! We strolled up Madison Avenue, discovering lovely new scents along the way.
Our first top was Lladró, a stunning gallery of finely detailed porcelain sculptures founded in Valencia, Spain. After sharing the company’s history and creation process, Cristina Egido introduced us to Lladró’s lovely new line of candles with Mediterranean-inspired scents. We sipped champagne and indulged in fresh fruits and Neuhaus chocolates, as we made our gift choices with a special Sniffapalooza discount and extra treats.
We continued along to Annick Goutal, where Francoise Alessi welcomed us to their newest boutique with a very special pairing of cocktails inspired by fragrance. After a brief overview of the brand history, we sampled the libations as we sniffed our scent strips. Sweet cookie treats were also served, making for a true multi-sensory experience. We enjoyed gift bags, discounts, and special treats with our Annick Goutal gift purchases.
What a great way to explore fragrance and take care of some gift shopping too!
