Sniffapalooza’s Atelier Cologne Master Class

It was a gloriously sunny day in Nolita, as Sniffapalooza friends gathered at the Atelier Cologne boutique for an exclusive Master Class hosted by brand co-founder Christophe Cervasel. The Prosecco was flowing, delicious nibbles were served, and fragrant conversation abounded. Master Perfumer Ralf Schwieger, creator of three of the fragrances, was a special guest and the group was rapt as he spoke about his influences and experiences in creating the fragrances, including the just-launched Ambre Nue.

Attendees were treated to unlimited sampling, special gifts, and leather bottle covers were hand-engraved by store manager, Ross Barry. Also present to welcome the enthusiasts were Atelier Cologne President, Gerard Camme, and sales associate, Julia.

There are plans to produce another Atelier Cologne Master Class with Sniffapalooza in early summer, to premiere two new fragrances.

Sunday Afternoon at The Krigler Perfumery

It was the perfect Sunday afternoon in NYC. Seventy Sniffapalooza fragrance aficionados collected on the Concourse Level of The Plaza Hotel, just outside the Krigler Perfumery. The debonair Ben Krigler, and his elegant maman, Liliane, hosted our group to premiere their newest fragrance, Ultra Chateau Krigler ²12 Perfume. The lovely Naoko and Haruna added their assistance, dispensing scent strips of the entire Krigler line, and patiently answering all of our questions.. We sniffed and mingled, while sipping Guy Saget, Sancerre “Domaine de la Perriere” 2010, and nibbling sweet Francois Payard Macarons and savory Dean & DeLuca crackers. Barcelona Journal: JC Apotecari

Undoubtedly, one of the best parts of our trip to Barcelona was meeting the wonderful people who hosted us and spent time with us! After corresponding with Jordi Cabezas of JC Apotecari for several months, I was really looking forward to meeting him in person.

Our intrepid group of Sniffapalooza travelers trekked to the charming and cozy district  of Sarria, where we were greeted at the threshold of JC Apotecari by Jordi, founder, co-owner and master pharmacist; his wife and business partner, Angels Pijuan; Sara Carner of Carner Barcelona Perfumes; Paola Gugliotti of Sepai Skincare Technology; and the warm and enthusiastic staff of JCA. We were whisked off for a short tour of the neighborhood, which included the local school (loved the red-headed boy with the teal glasses!), the town hall, the butcher, the bakery, and an astounding array of markets and specialty food purveyors. Equally amazing were the chic leathery-pleathery leggings and skyscraper shoes that both Sara and Paola glided in. Unbelievably elegant!
