Montserrat – a place between heaven and earth
Despite views of the incredible Gaudi buildings lining both sides of the elegant Passeig de Gracia, we stay focused on our destination – La Perfumeria Regia, a beautiful boutique with a very comprehensive niche fragrance selection. But shopping will have to wait. Through the doors at the far end of the perfumery, and way down the hallway, lies the true reason we’re here. The Museu del Perfum. Founded 50 years ago, the museum houses a vast collection of over 5000 perfume vessels from different ages, cultures, and civilizations. Curator Francesc Planas guides us through this historical journey from Greek & Roman to present times. We capture it all in photos, savoring each unique bottle, and lingering over familiar ones from the recent past.
We kicked off Sniffapalooza Barcelona with a delicious Spanish dinner, followed by an inspiring evening of Flamenco dancing at El Cordobes on Las Ramblas. It sure helped us shake off the jet lag!
