Sniffapalooza celebrates fragrance as an art, and we love to create unique events where we can explore the olfactive universe with kindred spirits and combine fragrance with other sensorial pursuits to heighten our awareness and appreciation. With this inspiration in mind, we have developed Sniffapalooza’s Fragrance, Wine and Candy Pairing Event, which will be held on Sunday, August 17th in New York City!
We invite you to share this interactive experience which combines a harmony of extraordinary smells, tastes, textures, and information, along with plenty of vibrant conversation. We have collaborated with incredible partners to venture beyond the top notes and delve deep into why we love fragrance and the emotions we feel when we sniff or taste something that speaks to our souls.
Our journey begins at 2:00 pm when we gather at Back Label Wine Merchants, Chelsea’s newest wine and spirits emporium known for their prolific selection and weekly wine classes. We’ll be greeted by charismatic co-owner and wine expert Patrick Watson, who will be serving savory cheese and snacks fresh from Back Label’s sister store Stinky Bklyn, as we mingle in anticipation of the afternoon’s sensorial treats!
This event will be a Master Class, pairing fragrance, wine, and candy. We’ll explore the nuances in taste and smell as we compare and discuss the stellar selections, while the experts unveil their world and process. Our fragrance partner is the wonderful Kelly Jones, founder and fragrance sommelier of Kelly & Jones Eau de Parfum, a scent collection inspired by wine notes and bouquet. Our confection collaborators are the dynamic husband and wife team of Glyn and Kelly (The Candyman) Jaime, owners of the fantastic candy mecca The Sweet Shop, which is known for retro, hard-to-find, small-batch, local and imported sweet delicacies.
We’ll have the opportunity to taste six wines that Patrick has curated to meld perfectly with the Kelly & Jones fragrances we’ll be sampling. Glyn and The Candyman have in turn matched candies and sorbets to the wine and scent accords. There will be ample time to try all the wines, fragrances and sweets and to chat one-on-on with Patrick, Kelly, Glyn and The Candyman. And the best part is – if you fall in love with something you’ve experienced during the event, it will be available to purchase and take home with special pricing and exclusive promotions!
Due to the personal and interactive nature of this incredible event, spaces at Sniffapalooza’s Fragrance, Wine and Candy Pairing Event are limited. The Registration Fee of $49 includes the Master Class, light snacks, wine and candy tastings, fragrance sampling, and additional surprises!
