Cinquième Sens, the acclaimed perfumery school from France, has teamed with Pratt Institute to create an extraordinary evening for Sniffapalooza members to learn about the Cinquième Sens Certificate Program in Perfumery offered at Pratt on Thursday, December 11 from 6-8pm at Pratt Institute’s Manhattan campus!
Pratt Institute is a global leader in higher education located in a cultural hub with historic campuses in Brooklyn and Manhattan. In collaboration with Cinquième Sens they have designed a two-hour interactive workshop for us led by the renowned fragrance designer and Pratt Institute faculty member Raymond Matts, who has lived a life in fragrance with experience in all aspects of the global fragrance business. Raymond has been responsible for the strategic development of many prestigious brands, including Aramis, Tommy Hilfiger, Clinique and Origins. Raymond’s presentation will give an overview of the courses in the Certificate Program: The Technique and Language of Perfumery and Advanced Perfumery. These courses cover a vast amount of significant educational information, including fragrance history, the physiological aspects of how we smell, the role of the fragrance house in relation to the finished goods supplier, clarifying the roles of IFRA, the various formats for extracting naturals, and defining naturals, synthetics, and reconstitutions.
There is no registration fee, refreshments will be served, and there will be ample time to ask questions about the Cinquième Sens Certificate Program and to chat with Raymond. As a special token of appreciation to Sniffapalooza members, we are being offered 10% off the price of any of the Perfumery courses.
