From our friends at Cosmetic Executive Women:
If you haven’t heard of Sniffapalooza, you probably don’t fit into the category of “fragrance junkie.” It could even be that buying fragrance once a year about sums up your scent portfolio.
But for a loyal and cult-like following, Karen Dubin is a hero to the olfactory senses. Founder and Director of Sniffapalooza, the international event-based organization for fragrance enthusiasts, Karen goes by the mantra that fragrance is to be celebrated as an art, and perfumers are artists.
So it is fitting that Karen is also this year’s winner of CEW’s Great Idea Award for Fragrance Innovation, sponsored by IFF. What Karen started in 2002 as a small group of friends getting together to shop and share their love of fragrance, has evolved into multi-city events at fragrance-minded stores drawing thousands of fragrance lovers to experience scents—and also for brands to reach out to their most loyal followers.
With the partnership of Karen Adams in 2004, Sniffapalooza grew even further, becoming not only a home for fragrance lovers but a muse and powerful marketing tool for the fragrance industry. The New York-based company’s website, sniffapalooza.com, is now a popular fragrance blog.
