Beauty, Dance, Music, Art, History, and Perfume came together last night at the Museum of Art and Design in a comprehensive exploration of the creative process behind Etat Libre d’Orange’s newest fragrance, The Afternoon of a Faun.
A sleek, multi-level NYC Flatiron-district loft was turned into a seductive meadow studded with lush flowers and vegetation for the launch of Agent Provocateur’s latest perfume, Petale Noir. The champagne flowed as guests experienced the heady mix of potent floral notes laced with traces of spice. Petale Noir is contained in Agent Provocateur’s iconic egg-shaped flacon, now in translucent glass with a delicately-etched floral pattern to stress the femininity of this elegant addition to the Agent Provocateur fragrance collection.
As I descended the stairs in Barneys Madison Avenue store to their basement beauty emporium, I was struck by a vision so stunning, so compelling, so emphatically *startling* – that I was transfixed and could not look away. I tried, I really did… but I was mesmerized… and the champagne and iridescent pink and green macarons I was offered only intensified my hypnotic state.
While we’re exploring the scents and sights of Lisbon next month, we will have the rare opportunity of spending an afternoon with our friend Roja Dove, the renowned fragrance expert and nose, who will jet over from London to have high tea with us and give an exclusive Master Class and Avant Premiere of his new collection, Roja Parfums. These will not launch in the U.S. until 2013 and we will be among the first to try them and also to be able to purchase them and have them delivered to our hotel before week’s end! Roja’s tea will include fragrance-inspired petits fours and other cakes, incorporating ingredients like jasmine jelly, vanilla sponge, rose Turkish delight, and bergamot tea infusions.
There’s still time to join us on our fragrant travels! The dates are Saturday, November 10 – Saturday, November 17, 2012. Click for further information!
