Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilée & A Giveaway

April in Paris. We were counting on sunshine-filled days with balmy breezes. Instead, we traipsed through the Tuileries, viewed the Eiffel Tower from the blustery Trocadero, and tiptoed through the Versailles Garden tulips with hats, scarves, gloves, and umbrellas blowing inside out. The most promising sign of spring we found was when we ducked into the Annick Goutal boutique on Rue de Castiglione. It was there that we first sampled Nuit Etoilée, the latest creation of Camille Goutal and Isabelle Doyen. One sniff and we were in the midst of a verdant, aromatic forest on a cool summer evening. This is truly a shared scent, with the traditional ribbed and ribboned bottle for women, and the masculine square bottle for men.

Nuit Etoilée won’t be available in stores until mid-May, but if you leave a comment below (the spring fragrance launch you’re most looking forward to? your favorite Paris memory? or just say hi!) we’ll enter your name in our giveaway to win a sample! Good luck!

Scent notes: Citrus, Citron, Sweet Orange, Peppermint Oil, Wild Siberian Pine Needles, Balsam Fir, Angelica Seeds.

Springtime on Central Park West

It’s March. It’s 78 degrees in NYC. I think we skipped over spring and headed right into summer.  My warm weather fragrance wardrobe is starting to line up on my dresser, alongside my new milky pastel nail polishes.

Today was just about the perfect day to sample Bond No. 9’s latest fragrance, Central Park West.  This lush white floral lifted my spirits and lasted throughout the day.

Top notes – Narcissus, Ylang Ylang, Pepper

Middle notes – Jasmine, Gardenia, Linden Blossom, Iris

Base notes – Vetiver, Oak Moss, Musk

Perfumer – Laurent Le Guernec of IFF

Disclaimer: Bond No. 9 sent a lab bottle for sampling.

Sniffapalooza’s Atelier Cologne Master Class

It was a gloriously sunny day in Nolita, as Sniffapalooza friends gathered at the Atelier Cologne boutique for an exclusive Master Class hosted by brand co-founder Christophe Cervasel. The Prosecco was flowing, delicious nibbles were served, and fragrant conversation abounded. Master Perfumer Ralf Schwieger, creator of three of the fragrances, was a special guest and the group was rapt as he spoke about his influences and experiences in creating the fragrances, including the just-launched Ambre Nue.

Attendees were treated to unlimited sampling, special gifts, and leather bottle covers were hand-engraved by store manager, Ross Barry. Also present to welcome the enthusiasts were Atelier Cologne President, Gerard Camme, and sales associate, Julia.

There are plans to produce another Atelier Cologne Master Class with Sniffapalooza in early summer, to premiere two new fragrances.
